Get Splat Happy provides fun art &
craft sessions for kids under 11 in
We appreciate that it is hard to keep kids entertained and that is why our creative activities are about much more than messy play, or just painting and sticking. Our lessons are packed with inspiring art and craft ideas that combine fun with secret learning. We bring the creative ideas and art materials and clean up the mess afterwards.
So whether you want to introduce your baby to paint and sensory play, keep your toddler busy during school hours or need a fun after-school activity for your little ones, it’s worth giving us a try. Your first session is FREE!
Get Splat Happy
Get Splat Happy is run by Gemma Nightingale, a mother of two with a passion for creativity. “I used to teach kids karate and always found it great fun working out what inspired them. I realised how great it was to do creative projects with my own kids while they were very young. It wasn’t just for them – I enjoyed rediscovering my own artistic side. We always have so much fun and are so proud of the work we do. I want other Mums, Grannies, Dads – or whoever – to experience this too. Sharing the fun while you see your child develop important life skills is genuinely rewarding.
Not very creative? that’s fine, you are shown step-by-step what to do, and your child gets to choose exactly how to do it – no two pictures are ever the same. And there is no wrong answer in art, so you and your child can both build your confidence together.
Can’t keep still for long? Kids get jumpy legs after a short while, but the sessions are broken up with age-appropriate ‘choo-choo moments’ – where we get up and move around to let off steam. Then we settle back down to focus on the next part of the project.
Don’t like mess? Not all our sessions are messy and we can usually adapt the activity if need be. We do provide some aprons, and use washable paints and glue, but please don’t wear your Sunday best, just in case of the odd accidental splat!
There is always something to admire at the end of the session – sometimes a group creation, but often something you will be proud to take home. And unlike being at home, you get to drink your tea before it goes cold!
Can highly recommend Get Splat Happy after school club to everyone. My girls love it and always have an amazing time. Well done and thank you Gemma . Xx
Emma, Mum to Lily and Isabelle, aged 6
‘Loved our Get Splat Happy session!! Was fab fun and engaged everyone from wriggly babies to busy pre-schoolers and tired Mums. Gemma came armed with fantastic creative ideas, all the kit we needed to make them happen and made sure the "splats" were contained and cleared up afterwards - very impressed!’
Lisa, with Charlie (aged 3) and Sylvie (aged 11 months)
‘... great fun and really well designed to cater for different ages/abilities and varying appetites for mess... Good prior attention had been given to safety considerations too, in terms of scissors, glue lids etc. Everyone really enjoyed it and their individual finished 'masterpieces' all looked brilliant!’
Heather, with Dexter (aged 3)
'...had great fun at the Get Splat Happy Christmas craft session. Gemma's creative ideas provided us with some fab festive keepsakes.'
Suzanne, with Sam (aged 16 months)
' Daisy really enjoys interacting with the other children and the chance to have some messy play! I like that every week there is a different activity for the children (and grown ups) to try. '
Lisa, with Daisy (age 4)
' I don’t normally like doing arty stuff but that was actually really fun! '
Theo, age 5, with Mum Clare
' We love coming to Get Splat Happy as we both love getting stuck in expressing our creative side in a fun environment. Great fun for kids and grown-ups too! '
Michelle, with Amelia, age 4
'Another great session at Get Splat Happy... If you like getting creative with your kids but prefer their hands are covered in paint outside the home, come along!'
Amanda, with Alex, 3
'My kids have been a couple of times and thoroughly enjoyed it - they got a lot out of the session, both creatively and socially - Scarlett keeps asking when she can next come back. Grandma enjoyed bringing them in the Easter holidays too!'
Liz, with George, 5, and Scarlett, 3
…I particularly love that within a year Dexter has gone from not really liking to get too 'messy' to now fully diving into it all! ... Your inspiration, everyone's encouragement and of course Hattie leading by brilliant 'splat happy' example! thank you.
Heather, Mum to Aaron aged 8 and Dexter aged 4.
